I tried the Selena Gomez flavored Oreo cookies. I got these in a four pack at WaWa for $3.99, which seemed a little pricey, but I assume they’re cheaper at the grocery store.
I was initially worried that the cookies would taste like the titular popstar, but upon closer inspection I was relieved to learn that they were “Chocolate & Cinnamon Creme Cookies”. The taste of human flesh is one Rubicon Nabisco is still unprepared to cross.
This is what the cookie looks like. It’s sort of an unassuming light brown color. They’re the same size as regular Oreos. I’m guessing the cookies are meant to taste of cinnamon judging by the color, but there is no real smell to them
The cream looks a little more interesting. It’s a double layered filling with both a white and brown component. The cookies were a little softer than a typical Oreo, though I’m not sure if that’s inherent to the cookie, or because I ate it on the beach. The flavor was basically bland and inoffensive. A vague sweetness paired with the tiniest hint of cinnamon spice. I detected zero notes of chocolate in either the cookie or cream. It reminded me of a biscoff that had been reformulated for babies.
Overall I cannot recommend Ms. Gomez’s cookie collaboration. The cookies were not unpleasant, but lacked the bite needed to support the ambitious complex flavor profile they were clearly going for. The Selena Gomez cookies are available nationwide for a limited time, but you probably should not “Come and Get It”
I do recommend the tangy pickle Doritos, as well as the tangy ketchup Doritos.
Thank you. Having spied these near the checkout at a gas station, and having eschewed them not without curiosity, I would deem you in this case an essential worker.
